the ovoid body rising from a short foot to a wide tapering neck, the exterior incised with stylised flower heads amongst broad leaves, applied with a splashed green and ochre-yellow glaze, the stepped domed cover surmounted by a circular knop, Japanese wood box; together with a similarly glazed dish decorated with a rabbit, Song/Jin dynasty, and a sancai-glazed waterpot, Tang dynasty, Japanese wood boxes

Condition

Jar and Cover: There are two areas of restoration to the cover (10cm by 1.3cm and 7cm by 1.3cm). There are two flakes to the glaze to the side of the body one at the shoulder (6mm by 4mm) and one 5mm by 2mm to the side. Rabbit Dish: This is in good condition but does have two areas of flaking glaze at the rim (8mm by 2mm and 3mm by 2mm). Waterpot: This is in good condition, but has two areas of flaking glaze below the rim (4mm by 3mm and 2mm by 2mm) and a small glaze chip above the foot (3mm by 2mm).
