the rounded sides incised with a scene of the battle at Hulao Pass, portraying Lu Bu being pursued by Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and Liu Bei, an inscription titling the scene sanying zhan Lu Bu (Three Heroes Battling Lu Bu), dated guisi ji chun (spring guisi year), signed Yindong ke (carved by Yindong) with one seal reading Wei, the base stamped with maker's marks shang, Fei Wenyuan Yuji, and rui, the cover surmounted with a lobed bud finial (2)
Condition
The teapot appears to be in good overall condition. The surface is tarnished and there are light scratches to the base and signs of use in the interior, as well as a slight knock to the mouth rim.
