The canvas has an old relining and the paint surface has been slightly pressed as a result. There is some frame abrasion along all four margins. The paint surface is stable and overall in good condition with little wear. It is covered in a dirty varnish. Inspection under ultraviolet light shows a milky old varnish. There are spot retouchings in the sky upper right and strengthening in the clouds by the heads of the small putti. There appears to be very old scattered repairs to nicks and tears, all circa 3 cm. or less, but they are difficult to see under the varnish. There is a repair to a short tear in the arm of the putti upper right. This lot is offered in a gilt wood frame, with fading to the gilding, but in good structural condition
