The canvas is lined, the paint surface is secure and stable. There are no major damages visible to the naked eye, but a degree of wear throughout. The varnish appears clear and even. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals retouchings throughout the sky and only few scattered through the buildings and piazza. Also visible is a + shaped old damage, perhaps caused by a knock from behind that's caused cracks in the paint surface that has some retouchings to it. Offered in a carved wood and gesso gilt 18th century English style frame in fair condition.
