Condition
The canvas is lined, the paint surface is stable with no major damages visible. The varnish appears clear and even. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a few scattered retouchings, and some restoration along the right margin, but any earlier work is hard to see as the varnish fluoresces opaque. The monkey and still life element appear largely untouched, there is repaint in the body of the insect centre left.
