robustly potted, the deep rounded sides and rim divided into nine bracket foliations, all supported on a tapered circular foot, impressed to the interior with an open flower within a petal-lobed medallion, surrounded by lotus and lingzhi sprays at the well, with an incised double-line border at the rim, the exterior similarly carved with scrolling lotus beneath a wide diaper band, all under an attractive green glaze pooling in the recesses, the unglazed firing ring on the underside oxidized to a rusty orange tone, Japanese wood box (2)

Condition

In excellent condition. Two old chips to the foot ring revealing orange body, measuring 24mm and 14mm. Three of the tips of the barbed rim with minute (1mm) glake flakes. Several minor characteristic firing imperfections, including a 5mm glaze pull to the interior, a 2mm burst air bubble beneath the rim and two glaze pulls to exterior.
