This work is in good overall condition as viewed, as is the canvas, which is clear and taut. There are areas of accretion and dirt visible on the yellow pigment at background. Upon close inspection, there are fine networks of craquelure present at yellow background and at areas of thicker impasto, all stable and consistent with the age of the work. There is an area of paint shrinkage and some paint loss present at bottom edge, left side. There is some paint shrinkage at black pigments, stable and consistent with the age of the work. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals no visible signs of restoration.

拍品資料及來源

"Through some subjective processes, all symptoms in life can be a source for aesthetic experiences. Affandi did not differentiate such symptoms of life with the aesthetic objects. His paintings depict natural landscapes, cockfights, water buffaloes, fishermen's boats, Balinese Barong dances, and horse carts. Symptoms of life, which one can all "reality", are linked to aesthetic objects in his paintings".
