This Allegory of Peace and Justice is a copy after Pompeo Batoni's prime version, signed and dated, P.B.P 1754, now in the Millenary Benedictine Abbey of Pannonhalma, Hungary, of which a large scale, autograph replica exists in the Museum of Fine Arts, Montreal.¹  Like the Pannonhalma and Montreal canvases, this painting was originally accompanied by a pendant, representing the Allegory of Truth and Mercy.
