Both canvases have old glue relinings which are firm and stable and the paint surfaces have not been flattened in the process. Both are perhaps a little dirty and there are scattered old retouching in the dark background, particularly around the edges, which have now discoloured slightly. The canvases have a seam running vertically through the center with fie retouching along each. In the still life including the cat, UV reveals retouched losses scattered throughout the background but overall the objects are in good condition with minor strengthening including to the shadows of box lid and the left most tassel. The still life included the clock has what appears to be an old, filled and retouched hole in the lower background beneath the fringe of the rug, left of center. There is a possible old repaired tear running horizontally approximately 8 in. parallel with the lower edge. Again the objects are overall in good condition with minor retouches and strengthening including some of the flowers. The paintings could perhaps be lightly cleaned but are otherwise ready to hang. Offered in simple old carved gilt wood frames.
