The present bell's fine decoration with foliage, chimeras, and skulls compares closely to three bells in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, all of which are attributed to Verona due to the presence of coats of arms of Veronese families. These bells' association with the Bonaventurini family is based on the presence of the date 1561 on one bell (inv. no. 586-1865), indicating it predates the arrival of the other great family of bell founders from Verona, the De Levis. The presence of the early needlework sleeve on the handle of the present bell is rare.
