In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. The present clip epitomized Art Deco design in its deceptively simple nature. Georges Fouquet mastered the art of creating harmonious designs, with every detail mapped out in such a precise way that adding another diamond or line would have created unbalance in the composition. Subtle details including the angled edges of the rock crystal and the use of various forms of mountings are joined to create a design that is both starkly geometric and softly curved.

In addition to its design and its crisp, clean color palette, the form of clip used on this piece makes it uniquely modern in nature. Made at a time when transformative jewels reigned supreme and women's fashions were changing at lightning speed, this design uses a clasp which allows it to be secured onto the edge of a garment, hat, clutch, etc. Having been asked to be the Président du Comité d'Admission et du Jury at the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris, Fouquet received accolades from his peers for his work during his lifetime and beyond. With its impressive composition and eternally modern design, this jewel is truly a work of art formed by one of the masters of the Art Deco era.
