Colour and Clarity: According to both SSEF and GIA reports, the rubies are natural, of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating. The rubies are of vivid red colour, according to GIA Gem Portrait book, which is described as "Pigeon's Blood" in the trade. SSEF appendix letter further states that the three largest rubies are from Mogok, Burma; and, to assemble rubies of "this quality and size is rare and exceptional". Please refer to the report for details. In our opinion, the three largest rubies are of strong red colour, slightly included to naked eyes but lively. Under 10x loupe, these rubies have natural feather and crystal inclusions, with surface reaching fissures and tiny chips, but generally lively stones. Other tiny rubies are of similar quality. Diamonds are about D to F colours, VVS to VS clarity. Condition: Platinum and karat yellow gold mount, in very good condition. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please note that jadeite and rubies of Burmese origin and articles of jewellery containing jadeite or rubies of Burmese origin all less than 100 years old may not be imported into the US. The purchaser's inability to import any item into the U.S. or any other country as a result of these or other restrictions shall not justify cancellation or rescission of the sale or any delay in payment. Please check with the specialist department if you are uncertain as to whether a lot is subject to these import restrictions, or any other restrictions on importation or exportation.
