Colour and Clarity: According to both the Gübelin and SSEF reports, the rubies are natural, of Burmese origin, with no indication of thermal treatment. Based on Gübelin testing, each ruby is also graded individually, of saturated red colour, known as "pigeon's blood" red in the trade. Gübelin appendix states that "A set of fifty-six natural, non-enhanced rubies from Burma of this size, endowed with such intrinsic qualities as a high transparency, combined with a saturated colour, is very rare." All pear-shaped diamonds, according to GIA reports, are G colour, Internally Flawless to VVS2 clarity. Among them, 16 stones are graded with both Excellent Polish and Symmetry, 68 stones are with Excellent Polish and 2 stones with Excellent Symmetry. Another fourteen round diamonds, according to GIA, are G colour, VVS1 or VVS2 clarity, all with Excellent Cut, Polish and Symmetry. Please refer to the reports for details. In our opinion, the rubies are matching, of saturated strong red colour, very clean to naked eyes with nice brilliance. Upon 10x loupe, the largest ruby in the middle has some natural silks and crystal inclusions, not noticeable to naked eyes. Some other rubies may also have a few minor crystal or feather inclusions, observed only under loupe check. Overall, most of the rubies are quite clean, which is a very rare quality in non-enhanced natural Burmese rubies. Some 14 round diamonds, not certified, are probably of G colour, VVS clarity. Condition: Good workmanship gives entire necklace a nice flow, which is soft and sit very well on neck. Karat white and yellow gold mount, in mint condition. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please note that jadeite and rubies of Burmese origin and articles of jewellery containing jadeite or rubies of Burmese origin all less than 100 years old may not be imported into the US. 鴿血紅的火紅魅力

天然緬甸紅寶石在過往幾年來成為了世界各地拍場上炙手可熱的珍貴寶石，得到不少藏家、珠寶愛好者，甚至是投資者的青睞。鍳於這種紅色寶石越見稀有難求，而其火紅彩光總叫人愛不釋手，每次出現在拍場上都定必惹來熱烈追捧，成交價亦因此屢創新高。

緬甸一直都被推崇為出產最頂級紅寶石的礦源，原因有二。第一，緬甸的紅寶石的顏色特別濃郁，因為它除了寶石本身以外的紅色，還擁有強烈的紅色熒光。亦即是說，不論在任何光線環境下，無論是天然光還是晚上的燭光下，緬甸紅寶石都能散發強烈的紅光，像是一團永不熄滅熊熊火焰。第二，緬甸紅寶石結構上有一些十分幼小、絲般的針狀內含物，能將光線均勻地折射到寶石的每一個切面，讓它的火彩更為明亮懾人。最頂尖的緬甸紅寶石總是擁有恰好的「絲」的數目，讓寶石展現絲絨般光彩，格外艷麗。

緬甸紅寶石最懾人的地方是它那如熊熊火焰般的顏色，而如此美麗的紅色裡面又有一種收藏家公認為最好的顏色，被冠以「鴿血紅」的名字，其始源地相信是緬甸著名的抺谷山脈。這抺紅色完美得彷彿不屬於這個物質的世界。有些人將其比喻為新鮮的石榴種子，亦有人說是落在銀碟子上的一滴鮮血，其他人則從古代的傳說和故事中搜索答案，但我們唯一可以確定的是，這種顏色極為稀有，那是一種純正、鮮豔又濃郁的紅色。

現今市場上大部份的紅寶石都經過加熱處理，想找到一顆全天然的緬甸紅寶石已經十分困難，如果寶石還擁有「鴿血紅」的美妙色彩、內含物又不多，這是如何難得的珍寶！這條項鏈上鑲了整整五十六顆天然緬甸紅寶石，更為難得的是每一顆都擁有最頂級的「鴿血紅」色，亦是拍賣場上首次出現整條均為「鴿血紅」紅寶石的珍貴項鏈。「稀有」一詞亦難以形容此項鏈難能可貴的程度。它結合了大自然界的種種奇蹟和人類對終極完美的追求，亦是對「寶石中的皇者 － 紅寶石」最深切的讚揚和歌頌。
