- walnut, giltwood
with an oval padded back within a border of laurel leaves with similarly carved downscrolled arms and bowed padded seat, the seat-rail with ribbon-tied floral and laurel leaf swags suspending circular bosses on leaf carved fluted tapering legs and toupie feet
Condition
Joints are a bit unstable and would benefit from some minor attention. Construction cracks at joints which are normal and can be left. Evidence of old worm damage and restorations to backs. The gilding is worn in places especially on the arms. Evidence of old glue repairs where the legs join the seat rail. There are some scattered age cracks some of which have been touched up with gilt paint.
