邱志傑，1969年生於福建省漳州市。畢業於浙江美術學院版畫系。其早期作品探討行為藝術和傳統書法的共存性。1990年代初以其畢業作品大型裝置《大玻璃：關於新生活》引人註目；開始的創作《重復書寫一千遍蘭亭敘》；被列入「後八九」思潮的重要作品。
邱拓寬其創作領域，轉向以攝影，錄像，和行為藝術的創作，並成為中國最早一批在新媒體藝術進行探索的藝術家之一。近年來邱志傑更涉足於藝術批評和策展。他探討和發表了《觀念藝術的誤區》和 《後感性》等重要論文，提倡藝術語言自身的實驗性，對中國當代美術理論界有深遠影響。
邱志傑曾任教於中國美院綜合藝術系，現居住在北京和杭州。其作品被美國紐約古根海姆美術館，美國洛杉磯當代美術館，新柏林藝術中心等重要世界藝術機構收藏。
