deftly carved in openwork as two conjoined carp fish facing the same direction, the larger fish grasping in its mouth a long stem of millet meandering over their bodies, their scales exquisitely rendered with cross-hatching incisions, the stone of a celadon colour mottled with russet inclusions

The carving is in overall good condition. There are minute nicks to the extremities as can be expected, including a minor nick to the tip of the leaf in front of the fish's mouth. The actual colour of the jade is a tinge more celadon than the catalogue illustration.
