of rectangular section, the slightly tapered body supported on four cabriole mythical beast mask legs, flanked on the sides with a pair of taotie mask handles suspending a loose ring, the other sides centred with a larger taotie mask, the rectangular domed cover reticulated on each side with bats soaring with outstretched wings amidst ruyi-shaped clouds, surmounted by an openwork coiled dragon finial, the stone of an even white colour with faint icy inclusions

The incense burner and cover are in overall good condition except minute nicks to the extremities as can be expected. There are minor shallow chips to the flanges of the incense burner and cover, the largest measuring approx. 0.6 x 0.6 cm. The finial of the cover has possibly been polished. The actual colour of the stone is similar to the catalogue illustration.
