The mouthrim of the left bowl has an approx. 1.8 cm hairline which has been cleaned and barely visible. A few sections of the inner mouthrims of both bowls have possibly been slightly polished, probably to conceal minor frittings. The pair is otherwise in fairly good condition, and their actual colour is slightly warmer than the catalogue illustration.

對盃薄胎細緻，器形清秀，暗花流暢，黃釉色澤嬌而不俗，溫潤怡人，位雍正朝黃釉佳瓷之列。黃釉，以鐵為呈色劑，乃中低溫釉，永樂始創，後世延燒。明清典章規定，黃釉器為宮廷及祭祀專用，不容僭越。據乾隆初年輯成之《國朝宮史．經費一．鋪宮》錄，外黃裏白瓷器，應屬皇貴妃專用，且數目有所規限。

暗花龍鳳祥雲，清瓷常見，然如此品之雍正年製罩黃釉盌，卻甚罕，傳世僅止數例。東方陶瓷學會曾展出一例，見於《The Arts of the Ch'ing Dynasty》，倫敦，1965年，編號292。Herschel V. Johnson 舊藏對盌，也可資比對，售於倫敦蘇富比 1967年2月21日，編號81。另有一盌，售於紐約佳士得2005年9月20日，編號378。鮑氏珍藏還有一盌，尺寸略大，先後錄於 John Ayers，《The Baur Collection》，卷3，日內瓦，1972年，圖版A449及《世界陶磁全集》，卷15，東京，1983年，頁196，圖版258。
