the massive vase mightily constructed with an ovoid body sweeping up to a waisted neck and flared rim, the exterior luxuriantly decorated in the famille-rose palette with large stylised flower heads, including lotus, iris and honeysuckle, all wreathed by feathery foliate scrolls, a cluster of peaches issuing from one large bloom in the centre, the floral blooms interspersed with beribonned anbaxian emblems, including a double-gourd, a fan, a sword and a basket of flowers, all above an upright elongated ruyi-shaped lappet border encircling the base, the neck decorated on both sides with a stylised floral bloom suspending a chime with a double-fish and a tasselled wan symbol attached to it, the neck flanked by a pair of scroll handles in the form of a stylised dragon, all between three bands of various petal lappet bands encircling the rim, base and splayed foot respectively, the footrim bordered with an iron-red 'classic scroll' band, the opulent design delicately picked out in white and shaded tones of rose-pink, blue, green and red and reserved on a ground of brilliant lemon-yellow ground finely engraved with dense sgraffiato feathery arabesques, the interior and base enamelled turquoise, the base inscribed in iron-red with a six-character seal mark within a white cartouche

本品瓶,曾屬十九世紀意大利東方主義畫家阿爾貝托‧帕西尼舊藏。帕西尼生於布塞托,後至帕爾馬學習,繼而搬至巴黎,為著名畫家泰奧多爾‧夏塞里奧(Theodor Chasseriau)工作。帕西尼尤愛異國文化,曾多次前往中東、地中海等地,後於1870年返回意大利,定居都靈 Villa Rabaja。旅行期間,帕西尼曾購入各類書畫及工藝品等,其部分藏品,包括本品瓶,於1929年5月在米蘭 Scopinich Gallery 售出。

Condition

Overall good condition. The tail end of one of the handles (visible on the left in the photo on page 47) has been broken off and refixed with no loss whatsoever. The overpainting is confined to the break itself. As expected of a famille-rose vase of this magnitude, there are occasional insignificant minute enamel flakes and shrinkages (the largest a 0.4cm flake on the right pearl under the twin fish symbol). Minor wear to gilding on mouth rim and foot rim. The yellow enamel is more brilliant and vivid than in the catalogue photo.

乾隆帝,論鑑寶藏古、好物興藝,堪稱歷代國君之冠。 此瓶成於景德鎮御窰廠,器型恢宏,巧綴洋彩,錦上添花,祥瑞滿溢,應為供御所製。未見他例有錄,疑為傳世孤品。

「洋彩」之名,君亦用之,透視高宗對來華西風之認同。隨著傳教士來華引入之繁密洋花、使用漸層或白彩交代立體明暗等西洋繪飾,經屢次試驗,乾隆年間清宮匠人已能掌握採用。本品中西合璧,技精藝絕,誠洋彩佳作,極為難得。

乾隆帝尤好正黃,或嘉其乃御用之調,且乃八旗元首正黃旗之色,是以洋彩瓷中,弘曆尤喜黃地之器。據乾隆二年(1737)《活計檔》記載,乾隆皇帝非常喜愛黃地洋花宮盌,曾旨意:「黃地洋花宮盌甚好,再燒造些。」同時還要求「東青釉拱花罇、嘉窰青穿枝蓮八寶雙珠大罇、嘉窰青龍穿枝蓮天球罇,此三樣照洋彩黃地洋花宮碗上花樣燒造些。」(圖一)。另有乾隆黃地洋彩轎瓶,紀年乾隆七年(1742),上有墨書御題詩稱道:「官汝稱名品,新瓶製更嘉」,可見乾隆甚喜新製瓷瓶,君心大悅,圖見廖寶秀編,《華麗彩瓷-乾隆洋彩》,國立故宮博物院,台北,2008年,編號20。(圖二

軋道錦地,密繪洋花綻放,高技精藝,細緻入微,彷彿錦織華綉,瑰麗堂皇。錦上添花,恰合於高宗對繁縟飾紋之好,肇製於乾隆一朝,方興未艾。壽桃、洋花,雖常見於乾隆御瓷,但如此瓶上之洋蓮綻三桃紋飾,卻極罕。

此瓶除繪有常見之卍字,且有玉磬雙魚,象徵吉慶有餘,喻意祥瑞。相類飾吉慶有餘之例,可見台北國立故宮博物院藏粉紅地及松石綠地洋彩瓶二對,惟其磬較簡約、魚較刻板,出處同上,編號30-31。

瓶上綬帶暗八仙紋,寄語長壽,明清瓷器上雖偶有見之,但乾隆洋彩瓷例極稀。後朝例較多見之,如道光御製外黃地內暗八仙紋盤,為萬壽節而製,見趙聰月編,《故宮博物院藏慎德堂款瓷器》,北京,2014年,圖版2。

乾隆御製黃地洋彩瓷甚罕,僅曾有數例見於拍賣。罕例有玫茵堂舊藏小瓶,上綴洋花盛綻,繁盛之象與本品相類,圖見於 R.P. Marchant,〈Some Interesting Pieces of Marked Ch’ing Porcelain〉,《香港東方陶瓷學會會刊》,1977-8年,第3期,圖版17-19,或康蕊君,《玫茵堂中國陶瓷》,倫敦,1994-2010年,卷4,編號1772,兩度售於香港蘇富比,分別為2009年4月8日,編號1601,以及2013年4月8日,編號15(圖見頁42左)。另請參考花卉紋葫蘆對瓶,乃 Christian R. Holmes 夫人故藏,1942年4月15-18日售於紐約 Parke-Bernet Galleries, Inc,編號178,近再售於香港蘇富比2012年10月9日,編號3014。

放山居舊藏且有一乾隆洋彩葫蘆瓶,其黃地色調稍淡,先後入 Loch 勛爵、Alfred Morrison(1821-97)、John Morrison(1950年代)、Margadale 勛爵及戴潤齋(1920-92)寶蓄,圖錄於 Soame Jenyns,《Later Chinese Porcelain. The Ch'ing Dynasty (1644-1912)》,倫敦,1951年,圖版CVIII,圖1,以及 Anthony du Boulay,《Christie's Pictorial History of Chinese Ceramics》,倫敦,1984年,圖9,售於倫敦佳士得1971年10月18日,編號74,以及香港蘇富比2010年10月7日,編號2126。

後朝例子亦不多見,但可參考之例有 Walter Fane (1828-85)爵士舊藏嘉慶黃地成對蓋瓶,飾相類花卉及暗八仙紋,售於倫敦蘇富比2002年11月13日,編號155。另可見放山居舊藏嘉慶帶款長頸膽瓶,飾相類洋花,Loch 勛爵(1827-1900)及 Alfred Morrison 故藏,售於香港佳士得2010年12月1日,編號2981。還可見倫敦佳士得2012年5月15日拍出之嘉慶帶款對瓶,編號318,器形與此類,頸綴黃地洋花,同配螭龍耳,然罩松綠彩,繪胡人獻瑞。

此洋彩瓶,雖或屬孤例,與清三代琺瑯彩等清宮造辦處製御作息息相關,見證盛清中西文化、技術之密切交流。近年台北國立故宮博物院就清朝西風東漸,進行多項研究、展覽,詳見廖寶秀編,前述出處,台北,2008年;余佩瑾,《金成旭映:清雍正琺瑯彩瓷》,台北,2013年;施靜菲,《日月光華:清宮畫琺瑯》,台北,2012年。北京故宮藏一乾隆銅胎畫琺瑯黃地雙聯蓋瓶,帶款,可資比對,見於《明清琺瑯器展覽圖錄》,台北,1999年,編號124(圖三)。
