the rectangular frame of typical miter, mortise and tenon construction enclosing a hard mat seat, the underside with two transverse stretchers, the square section beaded legs mitered and half-lapped into the frame, terminating in hoof feet and joined by flush-mitered beaded-humpback stretchers

Condition
The bench is lacking pairs of struts and decorative roundels in between the stretchers and frame as indicated by filled tenons and peg marks at the top of the stretchers and correspondingly the base of the frame. The joints have been stabilized as expected and there is a filled tenon to the top of the short side of the frrame indicating either replacement or re-used timber.
