each with straight top and side rails of circular section, the rectangular back enclosing an openwork panel carved with a central circular medallion enclosing a stylized fu character flanked to either side by a pair of writhing chilong trailing long bifurcated scrolling tails, each straight arm above a rectangular openwork panel with a pair of confronting chilong, the hard mat seat enclosed within a molded, beaded frame, joined by cylindrical arched stretchers with vertical struts and stretchers of ascending height (2)
Condition
The pair of chairs are in overall good condition. There are some filled repairs, consolidation of the joinery and some of the struts and aprons are possibly replacemed.
