each with members of circular section, an open back frame formed by a straight top rail rounding the corners to the back posts, inset at the top and sides with a cusped and beaded panel arched at the center and carved with intertwining tendrils, secured by straight rails on pairs of upright struts, the hard mat seat set within a molded frame, all above humpback spandrels, the legs joined by side and back stretchers and a foot rest over a humpback brace (2)

The pair of chairs has been consolidated with fill, patch and glue repairs to joints. There are patch repairs to stretchers and possible replacements of stretchers, aprons and struts. The surface has had some staining from water, discoloration from sun exposures and a layer of applied clear lacquer is lifting and opaque in areas.
