of octagonal form, supported on a tall foot, the sides rounding to a bulbous pear-shaped body and rising to a slender neck, the central bulb cut with gently curving facets, the recessed base with a wheel-cut four-character reign mark within a square, the glass of an even rich red colour of crushed-raspberry tone

Condition
The surface has been slightly polished, but the vase is otherwise in overall very good condition.

Grandeur in Qing Glass, Art Museum, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, 2000, cat. nos 20 and 19; another was sold at Christie's New York, 16th September 1998, lot 225; and a pair was sold in our New York rooms, 26th November 1991, lot 366, and again at Christie's New York, 20th September 2013, lot 1602.
