the shallow rounded sides rising from four feet to a lipped rim, painted and gilt against a turquoise ground, the interior with a central medallion enclosing nine peaches borne on flowering leafy branches, all encircled by lotus scrolls, the exterior similarly decorated with fruiting and flowering branches, the black-lacquered base gilt with scattered floral sprays

There are minor areas of retouching along the interior just below the rim, the largest area measuring 2x0.5cm on the turquoise ground. There are overall crazing and age cracks to the lacquer surface, as consistent with age. Both the interior and exterior have very small dents, minor flakes and general rubbing to the lacquer.
