清乾隆 銅胎掐絲琺瑯太平有象紋供器

modelled in columnar form with an elephant standing four square on a double lotus base, all raised on a waisted circular platform enamelled with swirling waves and lotus lappets, sustaining a vase tied with ribbons

The lotus and elephant are slightly loose but firmly attached to the base. The metal pin at the top of the elephant's back may be a later replacement of the original attribute. There are some general areas of enamel loss, such as one front and one hind leg of the elephant, and the blue lotus pod seeds. The turquoise enamels on the lotus pod underneath the elephant shows extensive crazing. There are characteristic pinholes and minor bubbling to the enamels. There are minor dents and rubbing to the gilding.
