These bowls are in good condition, with only minor scratches to the glaze to the interiors. One has some minor iron spots and burst bubbles to the interior.

本對盌精巧華美，細繪纏枝花卉紋飾，對比礬紅色地，濃淡相宜，亮澤分明。早於晉朝，磁州窰便以礬紅綴飾瓷器，元代景德鎮亦有效法。然而，直至18世紀，各種瓷釉特質詳細研究方始活躍，紋飾因而變化更廣，紛呈精彩。礬紅彩質薄而不透光，繪飾線條清晰細緻，為其他較厚重透亮之釉色所莫及。正因如此，以礬紅作紅彩留白紋飾，效果出眾，堪稱至臻，比較白地紅彩，更顯細緻柔和。

紅彩留白紋飾，乃清代唐英（1682-1756年）所創。唐英隸屬漢軍正白旗，十六歲任內務府員外郎，事於養心殿，於雍正乾隆兩朝任景德鎮御廠督陶官，糅合新穎製瓷技術，創製珍瓷，翻陳出新，佳器琳瑯。

紅彩留白纏枝花卉紋盌，始現於雍正年間，參考一帶雍正款例，現藏北京故宮，圖見《故宮珍藏康雍乾瓷器圖錄》，香港，1989年，圖版70。另一例為大衛德爵士故藏，現存於英國大英博物館，倫敦， 載於Margaret Medley，《Illustrated Catalogue of Ming Polychrome Wares》，倫敦，1978年，圖版163。

再比三例，其一為大衛德爵士故藏，現存於英國大英博物館，倫敦，圖見《東洋陶磁大観》，卷6，東京，1982年，彩色圖版92；其二載於耿寶昌，《明清瓷器鑑定》，香港，1993年，圖版483；其三出自Baerwald收藏，曾展於《Ausstellung chinesischer Kunst, Preußische Akademie der Künste》，柏林，1929年，編號1034。Ohlmer 收藏三盌例，現藏Roemer Museum，圖見Ulrich Wiesner，《Chinesisches Porzellan》，科隆，1981年，圖版30-32；兩盌例先後售於香港蘇富比1996年11月5日，編號 787及1995年10月31日，編號 497；另比一對盌例，售於倫敦佳士得2002年6月18日，編號 245。

乾隆年以後，此類盌仍然流行；比較一道光年例，現藏紐約大都會博物館，圖錄於 Suzanne Valenstein《A Handbook of Chinese Ceramics》，紐約，1989年，圖版 282；再比一對盌例，出自趙從衍收藏，曾售於香港蘇富比1980年，倫敦佳士得 1983年易手，再售於香港蘇富比2005年10月23日，編號 528。
