The vase is in very good condition with the exception of two small glaze pulls to the neck (1 and 3mm., diam); four narrow glaze-pull lines at the shoulder (the largest 18mm); and one triangular glaze pull to the flat area of the base (5x3mm), and a slight lean to the upper body. Minor glaze firing imperfections.

本青釉琮型飾皆模仿高古玉器，乃宋瓷典型之一。玉琮，器呈中空柱狀，並非容器，以中國東南部良渚文化所產玉琮尤為著名。上海博物館收藏一佳例，曾展於《良渚文化珍品展》，香港歷史博物館，香港，1992年，編號57。

可參考龍泉窰琮數例，出自各國重要收藏；一例現藏上海博物館，圖錄於《龍泉青瓷》，北京，1966年，圖版15；《故宮宋瓷圖錄·龍泉窯、哥窯、及其他各窯》記載一例，國立故宮博物院編纂，台北，1974年，圖版 8及 9； 另一例出自Eumorfopoulos 收藏，現藏於倫敦維多利亞與艾爾伯特博物館，見John Ayers，《Far Eastern Ceramics in the Victoria and Albert Museum》，倫敦， 1980年，圖版 124；再比一例，出自Oppenheim收藏，現存於倫敦大英博物館，載於Jessica Rawson（編），《The British Museum Book of Chinese Art》，倫敦，1992年，圖版 8（左）。比較一例，出自Toguri收藏，售於倫敦蘇富比2004年6月9日，編號53；另一例出自Baron Hatvany收藏，曾展於《Song Ceramics》，東南亞陶瓷學會，新加坡，1983年，編號36，售於倫敦蘇富比1996年11月5日，編號605。另比兩例，其一售於香港蘇富比2012年4月4日，編號3122，另一例售於倫敦蘇富比2014年11月5日，編號23。

本品之深綠青釉，於日本備受珍重，稱曰「砧青磁」，源自紙槌瓶之砧杵形狀。
