This vessel is generally in good overall condition, but there is a small (4mm) crack to the knop (as seen in x-ray 1. ) There are areas where the patina has been cleaned to the exterior of the rim and the interior base.

本品古樸典重，紋飾瑰麗，保存良好，雷紋襯地上作長尾龍紋，切合垂腹器型。器腹微扁，卣蓋上作三角紋飾，乃西周早期典型。青銅卣，商朝晚期至西周中期重要祭器之一。

本卣器型與周昭王卣相近，根據器上刻款，後者屬西周昭王（約公元前977/975-957年）年間古銅器，現藏於上海博物館，圖見《上海博物館藏青銅器》，上海，1964年，圖版38。亦可參考作冊瞏卣，亦屬西周昭王年間古銅器，售於紐約蘇富比2013年9月17日，編號 8。
