the baluster body surmounted by a short flared neck, decorated with two heart-shaped cartouches enclosing boys at play, against a bright yellow ground detailed with leafy lotus scrolls, the foot and neck with a border of upright plantain leaves, the turquoise base centred with an apocryphal six-character Jiaqing mark
Condition
The vase is in overall good condition. There is some shrinkage of the yellow enamel at the foot. Traces of iron red enamels are visible at the underside of the mouth rim, there originally may have been more red enamel. There is some rubbing to the gilding on the mouth rim as visible on the photo, light scratches or occasional wear to the enamels but overall these have been very well preserved.
