There are some typical dents to the surface or on the rim and footrim, expected wear and scratches and some occasional tarnishing / staining to the surface as visible on the photo, but overall this large bronze censer is in very good condition.

The fine workmanship of this incense burner is particularly notable in the loop handles which gently taper from the mouth to the shoulders to accentuate the swell of the body. Moreover, the smoothly finished surface has a luminous effect through the subtle golden sheen. A slightly smaller incense burner was sold in our Paris rooms, 12th June 2013, lot 73; and an incense burner of this type, but with a Yongzheng reign mark and of the period, was sold at Bonhams San Francisco, 13th December 2011, lot 5146.
