the padlock of horizontal rectangular section, framed with two confronting stylised mythical beasts with their sinuous bodies, worked in low relief on one side with a scene of a fisherman by the banks, the reverse with a four-character inscription; the disc decorated with scrolls on both sides, the stones of a pale celadon colour

Both are in overall good condition. There are minute nicks to the edges of the padlock with one corner possibly polished to conceal an earlier nick. The catalogue illustration is brighter than the actual colours of the stones.
