Description
- jade
the cachet of square form with an archaistic dragon crouching on the top, the seal face carved with a four-character inscription, the stone of mottled light grey colour, the plaque carved in openwork from a white stone in the form of two intertwining flower sprays, the silver seal finely chased and reticulated in the form of a dragon rising in a coil from surging waves clutching a pearl in its claw
Condition
The white jade plaque is in overall very good condition. The jade seal has some expected light wear to the corners but the overall condition is quite good and the stone is suffused with a network of natural veining. Both the plaque and the seal are of slightly more greenish tones than the catalogue illustration. The silver seal has some typical chips and dents to the intricate design, as well as characteristic tarnishing and light scratches to the metal.
