carved recumbent turning its head sharply to the left, with finely incised forelocks over the left shoulder, its tail swept over its hindquarter, the smoothly polished stone with russet patches

The right ear may be slightly polished as it is somewhat shorter than the other, but this can also be original to the piece. The overall condition is otherwise very good. The actual colour is less reddish, more pale celadon, the carving more contrasted and detailed when compared to the catalogue illustration.
