of compressed globular form supported on a short foot, the stout body divided into three registers, the main portion carved in relief with a scene of magpies among camellias in various stages of bloom, set with a lingzhi -handle opposite a ferocious horned beast issuing the short spout, the lid similarly carved and set with a coral finial, the stone of a warm amber colour, wood stand
Condition
The horns and the beard of the beast-head spout have been repaired. There are also some surface scratches and nicks to the extremities, including one to the tip of the spout and another flake to the underside of the rim of the cover.
