王光樂的〈壽漆〉系列源自藝術家家鄉老人每年會為自己準備的棺木上漆的習俗，創作時把畫布放平，然後在上面塗抹一層又一層的顏料，在塗抹及等待之間，時間就在畫布的顏色之間停留下來。《071030》是〈壽漆〉中非常獨特的一張，有著〈壽漆〉系列的經典單色調，並同時繼承早期〈午後〉系列對光的描述，而漸變的顏色塗層，亦同時直接開啟了同年開始，充滿極簡主義意味的〈無題〉系列。《071030》無疑是藝術家歷年來的凝煉之作，有著承先啟後的作用，對深入研究藝術家極有價值。王光樂的作品是時間的凝煉，是藝術家精神境界的呈現，他於二OOO年以《午後》一鳴驚人，並隨後開始創作〈水磨石〉系列，二OO四年開始，他拋開具象描述的框架，進入了更具觀念性的抽象，更著重創作的過程及觀念，最終作品的抽象畫面，其實是藝術家創作過程的凝結。
