le dossier arrondi se prolongeant gracieusement en accotoirs se terminant en une virgule de chaque côté, formant ainsi un fer à cheval, soutenu par un panneau rectangulaire central légèrement évasé en partie basse simplement sculpté en partie haute d'un caractère shou, encadré de petites ailes chantournées, reposant sur quatre pieds colonnes, les deux pieds en façade reliés par un tablier mouvementé souligné d'un léger bourrelet formant des enroulements, l'assise en paille tressée (2)

Condition
Each horseshoe-shaped top rail is composed of 5 sections, mortised and tennoned into the posts and stiles, with traces of glue in the joints. On the chair on the right of the catalogue illustration, there is a ca. 15 cm long area of the top rail that has been replaced with a slightly lighter coloured wood on the second section starting from the left arm. On the chair on the left of the catalogue illsutration, there is a ca. 16 cm long area of the top rail to the left of the back splat that has been replaced.
The S-curved back splat are tongue-and-grooved into the top rail and back of the seat frame with traces of glue. On the chair on the right, there are two natural flaws in the wood, the largest ca. 2 cm long that has been filled in.
The seat frame of standard mitre, mortise and tenon construction with exposed tenons on the short sides is supported by two transverse braces underneath, and fitted with a soft mat.
There are dents on the stretcher joining the front legs of the chair on the right. There are scratches and notches, especially on the feet, and noticeable wear on the lower part of the feet.
