Condition
The inside rim of the box has been repainted, visible on the exterior and interior and inside foot as has the rim of the cover and there are minor parts of the keyfret rim of both cover and box that may have been touched up. There is wear to the black lacquer on the inside of the box. There are overall minute losses to the raised and pointed parts of the carved design on both the box and cover. A ca. 1cm and a ca. 2cm long hairline is visible in the lacquer on two corners of the cover.
