Condition
The Buddha is made in several parts (front part of lower body from hips downwards, lower arms, upper arms from shoulders, possibly head and torso). There are cracks running through the joints where the pieces meet. The usnisa and crown are missing. A small part of the figure's right ear is missing. The figure's left hand is missing. The sole of the figure's right foot may have come off and been reattached. There is a vertical filled in crack running through the centre of the figure's forehead and continuing to the left and right of the nose and mouth to the chin. There are scattered cracks to the wood consistent with the age of the Buddha.
There is a ca. 2x1cm wide area of loss to the figure's left side near the base. There is a triangular ca. 8x3cm large piece to the figure's left side just behind the knee which has been replaced.
There are overall losses to the wood surface and the lacquer and pigment covering it ( visible in the catalogue illustration).
