The present lot contains endangered species which is subject to United States Fish & Wildlife Services CITES restrictions upon international export. The time frame for shipment outside the United States is approximately 6-8 months. Case in good condition with light spotting and patina to the brass. Dial in good condition with no apparent hairlines or cracks. Wooden base with light wear along the edges. Brass mounts where the top clock section and the wood base meet are slightly loose. Bird currently not functioning and will require an overhaul. No pendulum. Accompanied by 2 keys for the clock and a small key for the bird box.

The present lot features the unusual combination of a four glass clock with a concealed singing bird. The mechanical principle is similar to the singing bird box, where the bird is concealed beneath a lid. When the bird is activated it rises to sing and at the end of its song the bird folds beneath its lid. The present lot is a departure from singing birds more typically found in clocks where the singing bird is on display such as those in the birdcage examples.
