Condition

The present lot is not a chronometer and does not have a helical hairspring. Movement running at time of cataloging, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Case in very good condition with engine turning worn to the edges of the covers. Light scratches overall. Case remains think and heavy. 2 scratches to the inside of the case back. Glazed cover is missing. Dial in very good condition with no hairlines or cracks. Movement with light scratches.

The present lot features the distinctive bridge and train structure designed and made by Albert Potter (1836-1908). Potter, born in New York, practiced watchmaking in Albany and New York City, before relocating to Cuba. In 1875, Potter, who had returned to the United States in 1866, moved to and established a workshop in Geneva.
