此品最近一次公開展覽是1929年在倫敦貝爾格雷夫廣場斯福大宅（Seaford House）舉行的「夏洛蒂王后珍藏借展」（Queen Charlotte’s Loan Exhibition）。此對托盤來源有序，原主人是來自登比郡（Denbigshire）的貝克萊之約翰·卓佛爵士（Sir John Trevor of Brynkinalt，1637？-1717年），身後一直由家族收藏。

早年的卓佛是一位年少有成、聲名卓著的律師，更因此在1671年獲授騎士榮譽。除了法律專業外，約翰爵士憑著對政治的興趣，在1673年加入下議院，在1681及1685年成為登比郡（Denbigshire）代表。1685年5月，卓佛被選為下議院議長，由於他患有嚴重斜視，議員們不清楚到底議長是否在注意他們說話，令時人對他留下深刻的印象。1688年他獲任樞密院成員，但任期很短，隨著同年詹姆斯二世被迫退位後結束。瑪麗二世及威廉三世繼位後，儘管卓佛不再獲君主垂青，但他對法律事務的專長令他依然是一位不可或缺的人才；1689年，他被任命為副總檢察長（Solicitor General），是女王的主要法律顧問；在不到兩年之後，他再次獲任命為下議院議長。

1695年，約翰爵士被揭發收取大額賄賂，故被解除職務。即使如此，他仍然保留著司法職位，直至在1717年去世。
