Willem van de Velde the Younger and Studio

This is probably a very faint drawing by Van de Velde, radically reworked by another hand.

In an album of drawings primarily by William van de Velde the Elder and the Younger

Laid down on an old mount which in turn is laid down on paper. There is an old fold line that runs vertically down the centre of the sheet. There are areas of very minor surface dirt and some light abrasions to the sheet. Otherwise in good condition with the medium fresh throughout.

This would appear to be a rather faint chalk drawing by Van de Velde, possibly a counterproof, extensively reworked by one of his followers.
