Condition
This work is in overall very good condition. There are horizontal marks along the middle-sections of the threerods, probably inherent to the artist's process. There are a few brown spots scattered on the lower halves of the rods due to the casting process. The lamp functions properly. With bulbs.

著名雕塑家及設計家飛利普·伊其理於1925年生於蒙馬特，在巴黎國立高等美術學院就讀，與塞薩（César）同班。《自行車》是伊其理作品之一，早在1956年便被巴黎現代藝術博物館收入館藏之中。1959年，他在紐約The Contemporaries畫廊舉行個人展覽，結識了美國作家及攝影師查爾斯·亨利·福特，後者成為了伊其理的早期支持者之一。他與馬克思·恩斯特及喬治·巴塔耶私交甚好，因此與超現實主義運動關係密切，然而卻並不是追隨者之一。伊其理擅長使用金屬材質製造藝術品，自1960年代起開始設計家具，將不同材料有序組裝在一起，製造出浪漫詩意的雕塑及家具作品。他巧妙運用曲線弧度之美、珍稀名貴材料，手下的藝術作品高貴典雅，嫵媚精緻，為日常生活更添一份姿彩。
