The work is in overall good condition. Minor wear and tear around the edges, as well as scattered signs of accretion, but this does not detract from the quality of the painting. Under ultraviolet light inspection there are no signs of restoration. Framed.

Graduated in 1961 from the Saigon School of Fine Arts, the works of Huynh Phu Nhieu are collected by prominent collectors locally and internationally. The Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts houses a number of his paintings as well.  Portraying an idyllic landscape by the riverside in Saigon, the present Lot exemplifies the acme of the artist’s career. Executed in a panoramic format, Huynh Phu Nhieu conjured the magic hours just before sun-down. The pastel hues along with the soft atmospheric sunlight evoke a nostalgic feeling.
