Condition

Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US. This piece contains rubies of Burmese origin and therefore cannot be imported into the US. Please contact the jewellery department for further information or see our Important Notices. Accompanied by SSEF report no. 71805, stating that the fourteen rubies are of Burmese origin, thirteen with no indications of heating, one with indications of heating (no. 2 from male end of clasp). Clasp stamped with French import marks and 750 for 18 carat gold. According to the SSEF report, the 14 principal rubies measure from approximately 7.75 x 5.25 x 2.50 to 11.60 x 9.75 x 5.20 mm, weighing from approximately 0.9 to 5.3 carats, and are estimated to weigh a total of approximately 50 carats. Rubies of purplish red to red colour of medium strong saturation, with typical crystal inclusions, some surface reaching, some nicks, chips and abrasions. Additional 9 rubies on cluster pendant well matched in colour. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 44.00 - 54.00 carats, estimated H-K colours, VS-SI (some I) clarity, as gauged and graded in yellow gold mounting, a few with chips or abrasion; circular-cut diamond supporting pendant estimated to weigh approximately 3.00 carats. Clasp secure. Signs of wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use. In good condition. Total gross weight approximately 111 grams.
