Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US. This piece contains rubies of Burmese origin and therefore cannot be imported into the US. Accompanied by SSEF report no. 72671, stating that eighty of the rubies are of Burmese origin and three are of East African origin (no 4, 12 and 19 on necklace), all with no indications of heating. Necklace stamped 750 and 18K for 18 carat gold. The 71 rubies stated to weigh 81.86 carats, measuring from approximately 5.60 x 4.50 x 2.70 mm to approximately 9.05 x 6.90 x 3.05 mm, purplish red to red of medium strong saturation, for further information please refer to the SSEF report; with good transparency and typical crystal inclusions, some surface reaching, a few with chips visible under 10x magnification. Diamonds stated to weigh 39.43 carats, on average G-I colour, VS-SI clarity, as graded in mounting. Clasp secure; safety latch. Little sign of wear to metal. In excellent condition. Earrings each stamped 750 for 18 carat gold. The 12 rubies stated to weigh 14.10 carats, measuring from approximately 5.20 x 4.20 x 3.20 mm to approximately 7.30 x 5.90 x 3.00 mm on one earring and from approximately 5.20 x 4.50 x 4.20 mm to approximately 7.10 x 5.75 x 3.05 mm on the other earring, purplish red to red of medium strong saturation, for further information please refer to the SSEF report; with good transparency and typical crystal inclusions, some surface reaching, a few with chips visible under 10x magnification. Diamonds stated to weigh 7.00 carats, on average G-I colour, VS clarity (some SI), as graded in mounting. Earrings are about 70 mm long and 28 mm at their widest. Post and hinge back fitting; butterfly backing behind hinge back for added security. Little sign of wear to the metal. In excellent condition. Total gross weight approximately 177 grams.
