拍品資料及來源

In 1613, by royal decree, Marie de Médici, Queen of France, granted exceptional privileges to the Mellerio family for having thwarted a plot to assassinate the young King Louis XIII. Thus was established what would become the oldest dynasty of jewellers, the suppliers of Marie-Antoinette and Empresses Joséphine and Eugénie, as well as of all European Royal Courts.

In 2013, Mellerio dits Meller celebrated its 400th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the jewellery house enlisted the talents of celebrated jeweller Edéenne to create an haute joaillerie collection as rare and innovative as the house itself. Through the use of the maison's extensive archives and its collection of rare gems assembled over the course of several generations, the unique 'Médicis' collection was created. Inspired by Marie de Medici, each piece depicts the lily, the French royal emblem, a natural choice for this collection.
