拍品資料及來源

This type of sculpture is traditionally dated to the late Ming Period. However, in Hausmann’s opinion it is possible that this and other closely related examples date from an earlier period, as suggested by early representations of Lü Dongbin in late 15th century blue and white porcelain of the ‘wind-swept’ style.

A closely related bronze figure of Lü Dongbin in the Musée Cernuschi, dated 16th / early 17th century, is illustrated by Michel Maucuer, Bronzes de la Chine impériale, des Song aux Qin, Paris, 2013, cat. no. 108.
