of archaistic fangding form, the slightly rounded body resting on four cylindrical legs, the body finely detailed with a band of stylised circles and lines, interrupted by two pairs of mythical beast masks, the rim surmounted by a pair of arched handles, the bronze alloy of a ‘golden rain’ type

Condition
the right handle has been broken off and refined, possibly in antiquity. There are traces of original gilding, especially to the masks. General oxidisation and surface wear.
