The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it tends to stop when in certain positions and may benefit from a service soon. The very attractive two-tone dial is in excellent original condition with few invisible scuffs when cased and very light mark from the hour hand. The crown is not original. This reference 971 model Prince Brancard was one of the two first Prince models launched in 1928 and produced until the mid 1930s, along with the classic Prince. It is distinguished by its elegant curved flared sides. The watch was available in stainless steel, silver, gold, platinum or combinations of these.

Specimens with a two-tone dial, such as the present example, are among the most sought-after pieces. This feature enhances the sophisticated Art Deco design of the reference 971.
